The Mumbles Mile: The USA Edition is a free, 21-and-over walk along Historic Commercial Street in Springfield, Missouri, starting and ending at Mumbles1888 and stopping at the beverage-serving businesses along the way.
The event is inspired by the infamous Mumbles Mile in South Wales, where 26 pubs once stood side by side along a one-mile seaside stretch. Curious about the original? A sign on the wall at Mumbles1888 shares more of the story.
As it turns out, the walk down C-Street and back from Mumbles1888 is almost exactly a mile, making Springfield’s walkable historic district a natural home for an American edition. Participants are invited to enjoy a beverage of their choice at each stop along the way and to plan a safe ride home at the end.
Hosted by Springfield Brewing Company Athletics and Mumbles1888, the Mumbles Mile USA Edition is free to join and a lighthearted way to celebrate the bars, breweries, and gathering places that make Commercial Street a favorite Springfield destination.
